This is a review of the demo of Mafia 2, released on the 10th of August on Steam for the PC. Mafia 2 is the long awaited sequel to the 2002 Illusion Softworks (now 2k Czech) classic Mafia. It was first announced in August 2007 touting “benchmark-setting visual quality and action that you expect to see only in Hollywood movies”, since then it has had a few delays and some features have reportedly been removed. Bribe the police, face rival clans and fulfil all your aims to rise in the hierarchy of the dangerous criminal world by downloading Mafia 2.The PC version of the game is a Steam exclusive, as is the demo that I will be reviewing, installation was fairly easy however the installation of the latest PhysX runtime caused an issue with PhysX on the target machine that I will explain later. Give it the best you've got as an extortioner. City as twice as big as in the first instalment.Deal with 3 different families of the Mafia. State-of-the-art 2K Czech graphics engine.Faithful recreation of the time and its atmosphere.Move around the 15 districts and 3 suburbs available completing the missions you've been entrusted, together with your best friend, Joe Barbaro. The action is developed in the fictitious city of Empire Bay. You'll become Vito Scaletta, a young man who has come to America with his family, and that, to escape from poverty, decides to get involved in one of the largest and most violent organised crime groups. Mafia 2 is a third-person action game full of the shoot-outs and fights that are so typical in the Cosa Nostra. Have you ever thought about joining the Mafia? Mafia 2 is the second part of this saga of games in which you personify a member of the Sicilian Mafia during the 50's.
